The brush-tailed rock wallaby was once widespread, ranging throughout eastern Australia. Thanks largely to overhunting for its thick fur and predation by the introduced red fox, this species now only occurs in fragmented populations and is listed as critically endangered. Wallabies are browsers feeding on many native species of grasses, forbs and shrubs.
