The bush dog is native to tropical Central and South America. This diurnal carnivore feeds primarily on medium-sized rodents such as paca, agouti, and acouchi. When hunting in packs, the bush dog has been reported to prey on animals as large as capybara and rhea. The bush dog is semi-aquatic, possessing webbed feet that allow a high proficiency for swimming.
