The sulcata tortoise is a reptile species found along the southern edge of the Sahara desert. The sulcata tortoise is the third-largest species of tortoise in the world. They are a herbivorous species, their diet consisting of grasses and cactus pads. They can live for more than 70 years and grow up to 230 pounds.
